Wordie is built on a "local-first" architecture. This means that 100% of your personal data—including your vocabulary vault, mastery progress, analytics, and notes—is stored locally on your device within your browser's private storage (Chrome Local Storage). We do not have a central server that collects or stores your browsing history or your saved vocabulary.
Wordie does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not require account registration, email addresses, or any other personal details to function.
Wordie interacts with the following third-party services to provide essential functionality:
The Wordie extension requires permission to read the content of webpages you visit to identify and highlight your saved words. This process happens entirely on your local machine. Wordie never sends your browsing data or the content of the pages you visit to any external server.
Wordie does not use tracking cookies. It uses browser-provided local storage solely for storing your application data and settings.
Because your data is stored locally, you have total control over it. You can view, export (in CSV or JSON format), or delete your entire vocabulary vault at any time through the Wordie Dashboard or by uninstalling the extension.
